I joined the Zhang group at Rutgers University Newark the Fall of 2021. I was originally adopted from Cambodia and grew up mostly in San Francisco, but I have lived abroad for half my life in Japan, Germany, and England. I have two older siblings, a brother and sister, who both live in Nashville, Tennessee.
I got my B.A. Degrees in Chemistry and Mathematics at St. Olaf College in Northfield, Minnesota and received a distinction in chemistry for proteomic research using MALDI-TOFTOF.
Outside of academia, I enjoy playing music, I play piano and flute, gaming, and reading (currently reading "More Happy than Not" by Adam Silvera).
I am still deciding what I want to do after I complete the doctorate program.

Research
I am currently working on two projects; one is a DNA nanodevice and the other is RNA based. I cannot divulge too much information. however, the first project takes inspiration from mechanical engineering and adapts the "macro" into the "nano". The second project deals with the regulation of a biological process/processes using RNA/DNA.
More information will be available once the project(s) are published.
